HERE & BEYOND (series of paintings)
“Freed from the boundaries of time and space, I co-ordinate any and all points of universe, wherever I want them to be. My way leads towards the creation of a fresh perception of the world. Thus I explain in a new way the world unknown to you.”—Dziga Vertov
Whenever I stumble upon the photographs of constellation or galaxy, I constantly wonder about the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations living out there in the universe. What would it be like living in the unknown world? How do the societies look like? What language do they use? Etc.
Here & Beyond is on going series of paintings where each work displays a fantastic world that has its own dimension in time and space. I would like to invite the viewers to put on their imagination caps for a wondrous journey traveling through the time into the world beyond the planet we are living in.

To the Land of the Living
2018 | acrylic on canvas | 100 x 100 cm
The artwork is featured in One by One, 2Madison Gallery & Art Space Indonesia on May 1 - June 1 2018
I was inspired by the lives we are going through, colored by seasons of many ups and downs. Without fail, we will have to go through cycle of season- spring, summer, autumn and winter, that represent as happiness, fruitfulness, joy, pain, sadness, and suffering. However, through this work, I hope to convey a message of hope to viewers for not giving up when life gets tough. Whatever difficulties we are facing today, it will surely come to an end.
“After rain there's a rainbow, after a storm there's calm, after the night there's a morning, and after an ending there's a new beginning.” - Unknown
The artwork illustrates the excitement of certain inhabitants celebrating their adventurous journey that finally come to an end by crossing the rainbow bridge to their final destination, the Land of the Living. However, before coming this far, these inhabitants have gone through countless trials and wilderness experiences in the deserted places. Yet they found joy in experiencing new things that they encountered along the way. And the most significant lesson from this entire journey is the unity in walking together as one assembly.

Artist collection
"The Promises You Said" was inspired by the Biblical story in Genesis 15:5, depicted God given dreams and promises were like the countless stars in the night sky.
In this painting, I would like to create a whimsical landscape of the dreams and wonders of the two characters at the lower right corner of the painting could possibly imagine.
