more info, read here That's Another Story Fine Arts Undergraduate 'Works in Progress' That's another story is a selection of art declared as 'works in progress' from an art student's studio space. It wishes to celebrate the art that could be forgotten or treated as insignificant. We often say 'that's another story' to something that we do not wish to discuss further. But at the back of our mind, we know or are guilty that the slippage of its content in passing is actually important and, it should deserve another space and time to be ojectified. As we started the Pictoplasma Project things were simple. Everyone’s favourite character was the bunny. Today, just a few years later, those bunnies seem no longer en vogue - meanwhile we all have gradually moved on to favor a new, more mysterious, almost archetypical character: The Yeti? Suddenly they seem to be everywhere: white, hairy, friendly creatures, just feature-less enough to serve as the perfect empty screen, yet exactly the right amount of hairiness, to make you want to get into physical cuddle-mode. We can’t avoid being reminded of all those obscure Big Foot, Abominable Snowman and Chupacabra legends - one of the last mysterious entities without a clear depiction in our culture of visual overdose and instant google-search gratification. Even though no one, nowhere knows what Mr Yeti and co truly look like, by condensing all of those globally existent imaginary portraits down to their platonic ideal, we hope to get a better understanding of one of our time’s last secret characters. PLEASE HELP US IN OUR INVESTIGATION and share your graphical character designs of the Yeti, the Big Foot, Sasquatch, Albino Werewolf, Meh-teh, Migo, Chuchunya, Nuk-luk, Yeren, Hibagon, Kremnisse - or whatever it is called in your part of the world. Please send your creations (before March 15) as an uncompressed jpg measuring 1000 x 1000 pixels, against a white background - accompanied by your copyright info - to: missing_link@pictoplasma.com Time: Saturday, November 27 · 12:00pm - 10:00pm Location: AWARE Centre. Open space outside Block 5, Dover Crescent. Singapore, Singapore Info: It’s our 25th birthday bash and you’re invited to our place for some fun-filled, family-friendly revelry.
